After I posted yesterday’s blog, we went to the Grand Fair on the Lido deck. Even though we were getting pitched around due to the “significant” seas the captain told us about, everyone was playing the games, and winning tickets. The macabre fair music (think Beetlejuice-ese) playing in the background just added to the atmosphere. The cruise director, Ian, was dressed up as a clown. The waiters had top hats and gloves and were passing out fair food. There was pulled pork sliders, corn dogs, popcorn, ice cream, and cotton candy. The games included ladder toss, ring toss, something with a broom where you stop something dropping down a tube before it hits the floor, tictactoe bean bag toss, beer pong minus the beer, cornhole, and shuffleboard. You could use your winning tickets to guess the number of something in a jar and win a better prize, or spin to win something. Otherwise, you turned your tickets in and every 15 minutes, tickets were drawn to win various prizes, the best of which was lunch at the Pinnacle. We won a set of cordial glasses and a coffee cup.
